The Proposal : How not to do it.

The wedding proposal is by far the only event in a relationship where a man gets to make all the decisions that is of course if his girlfriend doesn’t 'pop the question' before he does.

This post  discusses the 10 most cheesiest ways to propose to a girl. Men you must truly avoid these after all you spend hours, days, weeks planning out the perfect proposal and while you might have chosen the best wine, the best setup, the right moment, people and girl, you might just end up with a ‘No’ if it’s just not right and so keep your eyes wide open and ears clean as you read/hear the 10 most awfully cheesy ways to propose.

#1 Ring in Champagne Glass
A beautiful candlelight dinner maybe at her favorite restaurant with her favorite chocolates, wine and then champagne or maybe just wine. You slip the ring in the glass when she doesn’t see (or ask the waiter to do so..your choice).
The dinner my friend might be romantic, the bill huge but girls have seen this move a thousand times before. Its definitely not unique and surely not healthy. Must skip.

#2 Ring placed in cake frosting
A slight modification of technique #1. Its still cheesy and unhealthy. Also, do remember girls don’t like people messing with their dessert and besides expect a ‘No’ if she ends up swallowing that ring all the way to the hospital.

#3 Helium hot air balloon and the ‘Will you Marry me?’ banner.
I’ve seen this proposal. Its generally done at fairs and parks. The chances are you’ve spent a lot of money and she will by the way say ‘No’. There’s no beautiful speech and she’ll be wondering who’s that idiot.

#4 The 'I love you' on knees plan
Imagine the most romantic location – am not saying paris, am saying maybe the beach at night, candles everywhere, violins playing, food on the side and your baby on his knees with a ring and rose in his hand.
Honestly who hasn’t seen this move before?
The guy’s luck depends on how his speech is. If its good expect a yes otherwise ‘All the Best bro’.

#5 The Birthday – wedding proposal
You know what I hate the most about this type of proposal?
It’s the girl’s birthday. All she wants is cake, gifts and her friends celebrating and having a good time not her boyfriend asking her to marry him. She’s already overwhelmed with all the love, why ask her to marry you that day? She’ll say yes all right (see the people around) but feel the guilt my friend, feel it.

#6 The proposal at a friend’s wedding
I know seeing a loved one especially a dear friend getting married is overwhelming and suddenly all you want to do is settle down and have kids. But proposing at someone else’s wedding is just Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. Kissi aur ke karche par mazzaa lootna. How selfish?
Do your thing at your own expense bro.

#7 The Park proposal
At a park, on your knees. Seriously?
Take my word dude. Unless she’s below 20 and likes parks do not try this. I repeat DO NOT TRY THIS.
Exception : At a beautiful garden with her fave flowers all around.

# 8 With a teddybear with a ring attached to the teddy’s collar
That teddy bear is going to cost you less than $15 so your ring better be good. Having said that, teddy bears? Really? What is she six?

#9 ‘I bought you a house’ proposal
This will probably work if you’ve known the girl long enough and are practically living together. Otherwise, its just creepy.

#10 At a crowded shopping mall at the food court
This is just as bad as breaking up at a food court which incidentally will be what you will be facing if you decide to go mall on the plan.

And there you go folks the worst ways to propose. Am not saying that these techniques will not work, all I want to say is that do something out of the box for her. It’s the only thing you get to plan, don’t give her a chance to complain. Besides they don’t forget things that easy.

Also, please do leave a comment on how 'he' proposed or how you plan to propose. You can also tell me where I went wrong. I don't mind. xoxo
